Young and in a Rush! (First Things First)

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a short week, hmm wonder why? lol Hope everyone had a great Fourth. I know I did. Hey Jennifer, I would watch fireworks from my roof too, but there aren't any fireworks close by. lol :(

I kinda felt like reminding the younger folks this morning, myself included, about the big picture.

So as young people, we have so many questions we want answered now. All of us want to be at that "Arrived" state of being. Career, married, Home-Owner, etc. Some of us even worry about it (If were honest). Just a heads up, things don't always go according to plan. Some of us think we have it all planned out. Life really is quite the journey. Goals are great and keep at them but leave room for error and don't be overly hard on yourself. Sometimes were referred to as the "me" generation. However, if your living for God, your not all about yourself. We should have a mentality of that of a servant. Letting go of OUR will and earnestly seeking GOD'S will. Ultimately TRUSTING in him.

WHO WILL I MARRY??!!!

WHERE WILL I LIVE?!!!!

WHAT WILL I DO?!!

WHAT WILL I WEAR?!! (jk)

WHAT WILL I EAT?!! (My main concern ;) )

All these questions swirling around, always on our mind. Here it is....

Matthew 16:33 "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

First things first! So what's first in our lives? The things of God. Don't put it last or somewhere in the middle, and expect the same result. This is a promise. "God is not a man that he may lie." Numbers 23:19 His promises are yes and amen.

Isaiah 55:11"So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Give your life to God and allow him to place you on the potter's wheel. Mold you into HIS vessel. The thought of being God's vessel, should just about motivate anyone. Were not laying up treasures here on Earth but in Heaven. Everything else(Insert questions and concerns) WILL fall into place.  "Lord I give myself away".

First things first :)

Have a good day

  2. Aw I'm sorry no awesome fire works for you. Ours was great but pretty short due to the booming economy. (Note sarcasm)

About your post,VERY good point. A lot of young people lose out with God because they become impatient, which leads them to settling for less or trying to make things happen before God is ready to allow things to happen. I like what the Apostle Paul said about being content in whatsover state we are in...and also that godliness with contentment is great gain. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Jennifer,

Well I got to see a couple great firework shows off Malibu Beach. Oh really? Did you hear about the 15 second show in San Diego? The techs set them all off at once, by mistake!

Yes and it's unfortunate. I've had a couple close friends walk away. You make a good point also, thanks for you comment. Contentment! :)
