Bring back the Good Old Days!

Good Morning!

I was reminiscing about my early childhood days. I'm sure most of can remember some of our elementary school teachers. The nice, as well as mean ones. Lol They all meant well, alot of them had a major impact on our lives. I even considered going into teaching for like two short lived seconds. Lol But what are some of the explosives trends that claimed the early 90's? particularly school age kids? well lets take a look.....

Which ones came first? Well I don't remember the chronological order but I'll try to be accurate...

Kindergarten: I still remember my first day of school, the confusion and the complicated backpacks. Lol Only thing I had down was the eating. haha Shortly after came the national phenomenon....Power Rangers! It was a show, that was packed with "action" Lol about a group of high school kids that had ninja skills and fought of the "evil people" that wanted to destroy the world. My backpack, clothes and toys were all Power Ranger theme. I even had power ranger shoes with Velcro straps (the epitome of coolness)

First Grade: Power Rangers still ran strong. My first grade teacher, who I ran into about a year ago(Epic) was very strict, we only talked about relevant topics in class. During recess and lunch I would run around with friends and pretend to be power rangers. There were girl characters on the show but I don't think it was nearly as popular with the girls, as with the guys. I think they were still into barbies. Nothing could compare to the storm that was brewing..A global craze that even Power Rangers would soon fall trend victim to. Lol

Second Grade: One word. Pokemon! It was unbelievable how quickly Pokemon popularity grew. Pokemon were these little monsters that had powers and there were card games and shows. I will never forget this one girl, who could quote the entire Pokemon theme song, It seemed so complicated and lengthy, she was very much obsessed with it. lol :( I had cards myself, I never learned how to actually play the game. Some would sell cards to others in school. I got in on the business myself, at one point I made $ 7 whole dollars in sales. Lol

Third Grade: Pokemon was only getting bigger, the snowball effect. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one that wanted that snow to melt. Yo Yo's were popular too, they were also expensive. I had the cheaper version and never took the time to learn any decent tricks on them. They were usually see through and one could spot the "brains" of the Yo Yo. More brains meant you had a better quality Yo Yo. Turns out the "brains" were the screws that held them together. Lol The kids were slightly right.

Fourth Grade: Romona books were popular. My teacher loved reading them to us. She knew how to act it out as she read. Star wars...even more popular. This was around the time of the whole Y2K. The turn of a new millennium. Pokemon was reaching their peak, they released a worldwide movie that was topped in ticket sales. Harry Potter books were introduced and quickly gaining momentum. The vocabbulary was a little advanced for fourth graders.

Fifth Grade: Everyone had graduation on there mind. I remember hearing from just about everyone, how hard middle school would be. You would have more than one teacher! (shocker). Scooters were everywhere, RAZOR scooters! Lol If you didn't have that brand, everyone would laugh at you. Even tho it was tempting to buy a different brand at the swap meet for a third of the price. The social price was too much to pay. I wasn't really into exercise, I had a Nintendo 64 *tears of joy streaming down my face* It was all I ever thought about. The graphics at the time were the best money could offer. Pro wrestling was also very popular. It would eventually mean more to me than Nintendo. Lol That's another blog post in and of its self.

There are some honorable mentions: Super-Soakers, Lisa Frank, Furbys, Goosebumps Mysteries.

Those are just a few of the top school age trends of the 90's. Side note: If any of you feel inspired to buy me a Nintendo 64 go right ahead ;) Lol Have a great day :)

He has Risen!

Goodmorning :)

With Easter just days away, I couldn't help but get excited. :) I hope morning service is packed with visitors. To me there is nothing more moving than seeing a visitor being touched by God. So it's important that we bring a guest :) God didn't save us to warm a pew but to labor for his kingdom! :) and HIS work should always be our top priority. Matthew 1:23 "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" God manifest in the flesh! Isaiah 53:5  "But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." There is truely is no greater love. So if your looking to attend a church, I encourage you to do so. Post a comment :)

Via Dolorosa

Down the Vía Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary

He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death

Down the Vía Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out of
His love for you and me.
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.

The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men
Made its way through the heart of Jerusalem.

Down the Vía Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me
Down the Vía Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.

Have a great day, and an even better weekend  :)

Deal fell through ;)

Good day everyone!

Okay so I know I said goodbye on my last post and I don't want to try an pull a "Brett Favre" (In and out of retirement endevavor). Lol So the deal fell through, no barbies, no tonka trucks, no future marketing site. (See April Fools post) ;) So you can all stop emailing me your Barbie Tree house discount requests. Lol! :) Resilience is here for the long run. After all it is Resilience not rigidity( the pysical property of being stiff and  resisting bending). Saved you a google search. :)

Topic of Discussion: What are some things you can't stand? Pet peeves?

I'll try and keep my list brief...

1) ONIONS!! Since I was a little kid, I had the nick name Sevoya! Because supposedly my head was the shape of an onion. (It was suppose to be cute) I didn't interpret it that way. Can't stand them.

2) The color Yellow. I don't think you will ever catch me wearing plain yellow. If you love it, that's great.

3) Automated customer service calls...This is a big one. Lol Having to repeat yourself over and over and enunciate every syllable :/ Just get me on the phone with a REAL person. :)

4) Realizing that the message you thought was sent, never went through. Once you realize it's too late! *DUN DUN DUN (Dramatic sting) Lol Sorry. :)

5) Clicks. I understand Birds of a feather flock together. You and select few might share the same interests but try to break out of your comfort zone from time to time. Either that or come up with a name for your click and print out some T-Shirts Lol

6) Politics: Honesty is thrown out the door. It all boils down to money. I'm not saying don't vote.

7) The smell of wet roads

8) Noisey eaters. CHOMP CHOMP! you know that smatting of lips noise. 0_o ??

9) Spitting in public....NOT cool.

10) Spotting something you really like (price is right) All is well, only to find out they don't have your size. Lol As strange as it might sound, I would buy it for the person who I think it might fit. Lol

11) Littering. Since when is it good to throw your trash on the floor? You wouldn't dare do it on your property. Also, those who toss their ciggarette buds out their car window. ??

12) Using God's name in vain.

13) Drivers that don't use there turn signal.

14) Wasting food, you can tell I'm totally against it. Lol :)

15) Spam.

16) The idea that you need alchol to have fun.

17) Onions

18) When you order a cold drink at Starbucks and it tastes luke warm. Cold at the top and warm on the bottom, just below the ice. All it would have took was a good stir. That's it.

19) People that love to gossip. Really?

20) First time with a new barber. Lol

21) There, Their, they're.

Yeah so I wasn't trying to vent but try your own list, I found it to be quite theraputic. haha :)

Have an outstanding day :)

Hey everyone!

Let me start off by saying thank you to everyone who is a fan of my blog. BIG Thanks! Thanks for following it. When I started this blog, I really didn't want it to be about one topic but a variety of subjects ranging from stocks to socks. Lol One thing I knew forshure was that I wanted to be a blessing to someone. I believed that has been the case. Now it is with deep regret that I now inform you all that, I will no longer be blogging. I have the sold the rights and name to my blog to Mattel, Inc. Who will more than likely convert this blog into a marketing center, mainly for Barbie products. This is a win-win situation because I am very consumed with a lot of others things, I don't post as often as I would like. It's for the better, I want to keep this short because I am going to miss this site. If you are interested in purchasing Barbie products, I can probably get you discounts as I am now well acquainted with alot of principals with Mattel, Inc. So email me, If your interested. You can get an early start on your Christmas Shopping.

Take care everyone and be Resilient! :)

Your Friend,
