"You go to church alot"

Good Morning,

Hope everyone is enjoying this time of year as much as I have been. Mostly the weather! Sure I love the summertime but something about this cold weather, makes me want to play some football. lol

Anyways..quick post because I felt inspired. Make a long story short...My coworker is a long time friend of mine...We have known each other since 4th grade. I'm 26, you do the math. lol

Monday mornings usually go like this...

Me: "What up man, good morning."
Coworker: "Sup bro, how was the weekend?"

Keep in mind the following.....Usually my weekends consist of some sort of church function or event, along with actual service on Sundays..My coworker has been to my church once before but does not regularly attend church.

So he says, "that's too much, your always at church..."

What? hold up. lol I don't take offense to that and I realize that he just doesn't fully understand..

Let me just remind the church going readers of this blog of the following:

We LOVE the church, that's why we do it. We put God's house first and essentially you are putting God first in your life..Putting God first in your life and the promises that come with that are a whole blog post in and of itself. You will soon find that your life revolves around the church, we want to raise our family in this truth. God has been so good to us and we in return give back...of our time, resources etc. As much as there is work and sacrifice involved, there are countless memories and good times that go with that. Its an honor to dwell in the house of the Lord.

Be proud of your church, regardless of the number of members there are in it, put all you can in it...it might be later down the road that your kids will reap the benefits but it doesn't matter. Its all worth it. I think of my church, we celebrated a 35th pastoral anniversary this year and to just be a part of it, is awesome. There was a point in time where it was just a store front. There were couples that made commitments to God and now they are grand parents with gran kids on the drums, leading service, etc. There were several storms and seasons between then and now but look what the Lord has done.

I also looked around at our sanctuary and thought of all the men and woman that helped build this church. Literally and figuratively. Some of those people have since passed away but they were apart of a work that will have eternal effects..all you can do is stand in Awe.

So yeah...I do go to church alot ;)

Have a great day everyone :)

August Already

God Bless you all!

Get over your Monday blues, get ready and go! haha I'm preaching to myself too. Before all that, don't forget to start your day off with prayer. Before you get ready, eat, or even get your Starbucks...Start things off on the right food, by putting God first.

Scripture of the day:

Matthew 6:33 " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Some of you might be wondering if I know any other scriptures, since I reference this one so often... well as a matter of fact I do! I can quote roughly 5 more! Boom.

Joking aside...Simply put, it settles it. The uncertainty, anxiety, and fear that comes from a young person with ambitions, not sure of how things will all work out or come to fruition. God says, just put me first. That's our job, he will take care of the rest. (God will always do his part)

Have a great day, I'm taking requests on blog topics so send them my way. Except in the area of marriage, can't help you there.....Yet ;)

God Bless,

My Last Camp as a Camper! Part 1

Okay ya'll so I have been going to church camps for as long as I can remember. It all started when a friend of mine convinced me to go to Donkey Rock! (Shout Out to Fresno)...It was a big deal for me because I was sort of an introvert and feared if my friend was caught up talking to his friends, I would be forced to...(GASP) meet new people lol...I'm going to try and do a multi post blog on this so I can take my time...For now I'll leave you with this pic...From last years camp, Team 2 will always hold a place in my heart...You had to be on the team to really understand what a ride it was, that ultimately culminated in receiving first place. :)

Special recognition to the ladies of this team. They gave it their all and I was so proud of them. So stick with me as I pull together my best memories..A little bit of DK camp...But mostly PCC.

God Bless

Full Circle

Good Morning,

Hope you all had a great weekend! At least for today only, most of southern California is experiencing heavy rain. Yes, rain. I had anticipated today's forecast thanks to my weather app. So while doing some shopping at Home Depot, I scooped one of these up

The problem with this weather is that we don't know how to handle it. We simply don't know how to drive in the rain, like a 16 year old borrowing his dads muscle car to run an errand. Imagine, a sea of first time drivers! That is what you get when it rains in L.A.

Moving along.....

This past Sunday, I helped one of the youth leaders at our church teach the youth class lesson. It was her lesson plan and I just tried to find random ways to help her because I felt like the guy getting paid to not really do anything. So I would hold any and all print outs she printed, greet the kids, collect the offering etc. Organize things that didn't really need much organizing..lol I had helped with Sunday school before but never the youth class, so I did some observing and took a lot of mental notes. I have a few weeks to prepare my own lesson and after observations I came to the following conclusion: We need an alter call in those rooms, them kids are something else. lol Maybe the reason why they don't do that is because you would have to haul wooden benches up a couple flight of stairs. lol! In all honesty, I enjoyed it and count it an honor. That age range is such a crucial time in a persons life. God bless all the Sunday School teachers! amen.

Tis all for now,  Hope to see you at Oncourse, PCC and other meetings soon to come.

Have a nice day/week/month/year/life
